What we net

Netted cat enclosures for decks, verandahs and backyards

Every netting job starts with where your cats like to lie in the sun and where you like to sit, and grows from there.

Decks and pergolas

A netted deck turns the place you already sit for breakfast or a barbecue into outdoor space your cats share with you.

We net existing decks and pergolas, and if the space calls for it, we can build a new deck or a roof over the deck as part of the same enclosure.

Verandahs

A verandah already has a roof and a view of the garden, so it makes a comfortable netted cat enclosure.

We design the netting around the verandah's posts and railings, so it still looks and feels like your verandah.

Whole backyards and side paths

For the most room, we enclose the whole backyard, from the back door out to the fence line.

Shelves on the wall, turf and raised garden beds can all sit inside, so the yard stays a garden for you too.

A netted side path can join the front of the house to the back, giving your cats a long walk with plenty to watch.

Gates so people can come and go

A custom gate, built into the netting

A custom gate gives the people of the house a way in, and we can build it into the enclosure as part of the job.

We put it where you already walk, whether that's the side passage, the back steps or the path to the clothesline.

Because we do carpentry and steel work, including welding, the gate is made to suit the frame it sits in.

Also built as part of your enclosure

  • Custom gates for getting in and out
  • Fences
  • Decks, and roofs over decks
  • Raised garden beds
  • Cat doors fitted into walls and doors

Tunnels and catios

Netting that links up with tunnels and catios

Netting covers the big open spaces, and our tunnels and catios bring your cat out to them from inside the house.

Your cat can head out through a window or a cat door, travel along a mesh tunnel, and arrive on the netted deck, verandah or yard.

Very pleased with our new catio - Marty provided friendly service from the outset, including free consultation with suggestions on how we could design our set-up based on our requirements. Marty seamlessly integrated our catio into the human spaces by professionally enclosing our covered deck area with non-obtrusive netting and quality-constructed gate for human access, along with cat tunnel from deck to window. The enclosure of the deck had the added bonus of keeping pesky possums out that were becoming a nuisance. Our cats are really enjoying the new space and so are we!

A very positive experience! Free consultation & flexibility with time frames. We already had some materials to build a cat enclosure as we were going to build it ourselves - Marty worked with what we had and added his own materials to create a space for our cats that was exactly what we had in mind. All at a very reasonable cost. Our cats are so much more relaxed now, they have a tunnel running from a window that allows them to come and go whenever they like. The enclosure is secure and should last a long time. It also looks nice and not out of place. We have put a kids cubby inside the enclosure as a foundation for adding extra platforms and walkways. Overall we are really happy with the result - my only regret is that I didn't find out about this service sooner!

These guys are the best! Marty and Martin built my cat enclosure perfectly. The cats love it and so do I. They had the cat flap installed and structure erected in rapid time. I highly recommend Hobart Cat Enclosures for the best catio. Thank you Marty and Martin!

Marty and Martin were fabulous - they created a great escape proof catio for my cat. It was exactly what I wanted, they arrived whenever they said they would, they kept the area clean as they worked and went above and beyond to clear the area first as I couldn't do it. Their prices were reasonable and affordable, and they were both friendly and helpful. The quote was done very quickly and the job came in exactly as quoted. They even did extra jobs for me when I realised they could do more than catios. I could not rate Cat Enclosures Hobart more highly.

Marty and his team are the best! We had a large cat run and an overhead tunnel from the house to be built, as well as repositioning our original small cat house. All the work was excellent and completed in good time, with consultation and communication to ensure everything met our needs - and all in very friendly and professional manner. Cannot recommend more highly! Our cat loves his enclosure and spends all night there enjoying watching over his terrain! 😁

FAQ

Your cat netting questions

Can you net an existing deck or pergola?

Yes, we enclose existing decks, verandahs and pergolas, and design the netting and framing around the structure that's already there.

If you'd like a new deck or a roof over the deck as well, we can build it as part of the same enclosure.

Can a netted yard have a gate?

Yes, we can build a custom gate into the netted area as part of the enclosure, so people can come and go.

We put it where you already walk, for example off the side path or at the back steps.

How does the netting connect to a cat tunnel?

We build our galvanised mesh tunnels to meet the netted area, so your cat can walk from a window or cat door straight into the enclosure.

The tunnels have a 300 mm x 400 mm profile with an artificial turf floor, and they can span more than 5 metres with no support underneath.

Can you net a whole backyard?

Yes, we enclose whole backyards as well as decks, verandahs and side paths.

Every yard is quoted to its own size and shape, with a fixed price before work starts.

Where can I see your CatNets listing?
