Cat runs and tunnels in Hobart

Cat runs and tunnels that link the house to the garden

We build cat runs and mesh tunnels across Greater Hobart that give your cat a walkway from the house to a catio, a netted deck or the garden.

Runs follow the side of the house, a fence or a wall, and our tunnels can start at a window or a cat door and span more than 5 metres with no support underneath.

Every one is made to measure, with a free, fixed-price quote before any work starts.

Join a run to one of our custom catios or a netted deck or backyard, or browse our recent cat run and catio builds.

Cat runs

Outdoor cat runs along the house, fences and walls

A cat run is a long, enclosed walkway that turns the narrow parts of a yard into outdoor space for your cat.

We shape each cat run enclosure to your property, so it fits between the walls, fences and garden you already have.

Down the side of the house

The strip between the house and the side fence becomes a turfed run your cat can walk from one end to the other.

Along fences and walls

A run can follow a fence line or travel along a wall, giving your cat height and a long view over the garden.

Turfed walkways

Artificial turf along the floor gives your cat soft footing and a strip of green the whole way.

Attached to the house

A cat run attached to the house joins a window or a cat door, so your cat can step outside by themselves.

Our guide to catios, cat runs and enclosures compares the options if you're weighing up a run against a catio.

Our tunnels

Cat tunnels designed and tested by Marty

Marty designed and tested our galvanised mesh tunnels himself, and we make every one locally to the exact measurements your property needs.

These cat tunnels carry your cat between the house and the catio, along walls, over paths and across the garden.

Where a tunnel starts

Tunnels that start at a window or a cat door

The right starting point depends on your house, so we look at your windows, doors and walls at the first visit.

From a window

A mesh window box sits at the window, so your cat steps straight out into the tunnel.

From there the tunnel can step down the wall to a lower walkway, a run or a catio.

Through a cat door

We fit cat doors into walls and doors as part of the build.

A cat door can open straight into a netted side run, so your cat walks out at ground level.

Photos of your windows, doors and walls help us prepare for the visit, and you can send your photos through our contact form or the quote form below.

Putting it together

Linking a run to a catio or a netted deck

A cat run tunnel works as the hallway between the house and the space where your cat spends the day.

    From the house

A mesh window box, or a cat door we fit into a wall or door as part of the build.

  2. 2

    Along a run or tunnel

Turfed runs and mesh tunnels carry your cat along walls and fences, or across the garden.

  3. 3

Every build comes with a free, fixed-price quote and a 2-year warranty.

A very positive experience! Free consultation & flexibility with time frames. We already had some materials to build a cat enclosure as we were going to build it ourselves - Marty worked with what we had and added his own materials to create a space for our cats that was exactly what we had in mind. All at a very reasonable cost. Our cats are so much more relaxed now, they have a tunnel running from a window that allows them to come and go whenever they like. The enclosure is secure and should last a long time. It also looks nice and not out of place. We have put a kids cubby inside the enclosure as a foundation for adding extra platforms and walkways. Overall we are really happy with the result - my only regret is that I didn't find out about this service sooner!
