Balcony catios
A balcony catio, or balcony cat enclosure, gives your cat the height and the wide view that cats love.
We frame it to the shape of the balcony you already have and fix it to the house, so the outlook stays open for everyone.
Catios in Hobart
We design and build catios across Greater Hobart, so your cat can sunbake, climb and watch the world go by from an enclosed outdoor space made for your home.
We build window, balcony, verandah, deck and garden catios, and every one starts with a free, fixed-price quote.
Your cat can come and go through a cat door or one of our mesh tunnels from a window, and a catio can open onto a netted deck or verandah.

The catios we build
From a compact window box to a large catio that takes in the whole deck, every design starts with the spots your cat already loves.
A sunny windowsill or the back step is a natural place to begin.

A balcony catio, or balcony cat enclosure, gives your cat the height and the wide view that cats love.
We frame it to the shape of the balcony you already have and fix it to the house, so the outlook stays open for everyone.

A window catio is a mesh box built onto the outside of a window, where your cat can sit in the fresh air and keep an eye on the garden.
It can stand alone, or join one of our tunnels and carry on along the wall to a bigger catio.

Enclosing a verandah or deck, sometimes called a cat patio enclosure, gives you and your cats a shared space with room for the outdoor setting.
A roof over the deck can be part of the build when you'd like shade and shelter.

An attached catio is built against the house, around a back door, sliding door or window, so your cat can step straight outside.
With carpentry and steel work, including welding, we make the frame to suit the walls it joins.

A freestanding garden catio sits out among the plants, where there's always something to sniff and watch.
One of our tunnels can link it to a window or a cat door in the house.
What goes inside
Cats like to get up high and survey their patch, so we plan the inside as carefully as the frame.
Timber shelves fixed at staggered heights give your cat a lookout at every level.
Ramps link each shelf to the next, so your cat can climb to the top and back down.
Turf on walkways and ledges gives paws something soft and green, the same finish we lay along the floor of our tunnels.
We fit cat doors into walls and doors, so your cat can let themselves in and out.
A deck, a roof over it and raised garden beds can all be built into the same project.
If you're planning the fit-out, our guide covers what to put in a catio.

Getting in and out
We plan the way in alongside the catio itself, so your cat can come and go on their own terms.
We fit a cat door into a wall or a door as part of the catio build.
It suits a catio built right against the house, and your cat lets themselves in and out.
Our galvanised mesh tunnels run from a window to the catio, along a wall or high across the yard.
Netted decks
Cat netting over a deck or verandah gives your cats the same outdoor space you enjoy.
We're a CatNets recommended installer, listed for Hobart, the Eastern Shore and Southern Tasmania.
A custom gate can be built in so people can come and go, and a tunnel or cat door brings your cats out from the house.

Very pleased with our new catio - Marty provided friendly service from the outset, including free consultation with suggestions on how we could design our set-up based on our requirements. Marty seamlessly integrated our catio into the human spaces by professionally enclosing our covered deck area with non-obtrusive netting and quality-constructed gate for human access, along with cat tunnel from deck to window. The enclosure of the deck had the added bonus of keeping pesky possums out that were becoming a nuisance. Our cats are really enjoying the new space and so are we!
